With the recession in full swing and disposable income budget plummeting, many people are dumping their season tickets to make up for economic hardship and to put some money in the bank. This is quite the 180 degree turn from America's credit card obsession. Consequently, you can buy major league baseball season tickets for below face value (unless you happen to be a Cubs, Yankees or Red Sox fan - sorry).
Arizona Diamondbacks - None available at this time, check back later
Atlanta Braves - $412 - $5,000, this team had problems selling out when the Braves were awesome every year
Baltimore Orioles - None available at this time, check back later
Boston Red Sox - $4,000 - $15,000, Red Sox tickets are almost always above face value
Chicago Cubs - $3230 - $25,000, quite the range for the 3-7 Cubs fans (arrive in the 3rd inning, leave in the 7th inning)
Chicago White Sox - $3199 - $5999, all the seats are lower level so the prices aren't too bad for Chicago's red headed step child baseball team
Cincinnati Reds - $2880 - $3450, for very good seats
Cleveland Indians - None available at this time, check back later
Colorado Rockies - None available at this time, check back later
Detroit Tigers - $1400 - $10,000, the city that's always dying and a team that's always rebuilding
Florida Marlins - None available at this time, check back later
Houston Astros - $1559 - $25,000, I have no idea who would pay $25,000 to play the Astros
Kansas City Royals - None available at this time, check back later
Los Angeles Angels - $670 - $8000, very cheap tickets and a wide offering
Los Angeles Dodgers - $400 - $13,000, cheapest tickets available
Milwaukee Brewers - $800 - $99,000, You'd have to be Sarah Palin dumb to pay 99k for Brewers tickets
Minnesota Twins - $500 - $2800, one of the cheapest offering
New York Mets - $1250 - $20,000, new stadium, less bankers to buy tickets
New York Yankees - $1950- $100,000, easily the most tickets available. With the new stadium and high expectations, these tickets should be hot in the first few months.
Oakland Athletics - $3825 - $5000, not a whole lot of variety is available
Philadelphia Phillies - $2500 - $8000, for the World Series Champs' season tickets
Pittsburgh Pirates - None available at this time, check back later
San Diego Padres - None available at this time, check back later
San Francisco Giants - $1250-$13000, almost every location is available….the Barryless Giants don't have quite the appeal that they used to
Seattle Mariners - $2195 - $9000, only two sets of tickets are available
St. Louis Cardinals - $1249-$3400, many different locations and a fair amount of below face value tickets
Tampa Bay Rays - $1950 - $6299, only two sets of tickets are available for last year's Cinderella team
Texas Rangers - None available at this time, check back later
Toronto Blue Jays - None available at this time, check back later
Washington Nationals - $12540, only one set available for sale which is surprising considering how bad the Nats were last year
